COMMUNITY SERVICE
Lionville Elementary
School Garden
The Garden Club at Lionville Elementary School grows between 400 to 700 pounds of food each year, which is donated to the Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown. In an effort to maintain this success, Celtic Roots donated approximately $10,000 worth of time, material and labor in improvements to the garden. Installing river rock throughout the garden, building and installing raised planting beds, installing irrigation to aid in watering through the summer months and installing a fence around the perimeter of the garden. Just a small token of appreciation for the amazing teachers and administrators in our community.
Avidum Quartyard
at Downingtown East
The word Aevidum means “I’ve got your back”, and was created by high school students after a classmate died by suicide. DEHS formed a club at the high school in an effort to promote a culture of care and advocacy. Celtic Roots worked with both students and staff to create a peaceful space for students to share during the school day. Cleaning up the courtyard included the installation of a pond, installation of river rock, etc. Norm works with the Courtyard Club in maintaining this space and even plays Santa during a Student Council sponsored event.
Lionville Youth Association
Maintaining athletic facilities is nothing short of a passion for Celtic Roots. Along with annual sponsorship of LYA athletics, we maintain the facilities at Lionville Park. Extra attention is given to ensure all of the young athletes in the community feel like major leaguers when they take the field!
Downingtown Area
School District
Celtic Roots is a proud sponsor of a number of Downingtown East HS athletic teams. Currently, we sponsor the Boys and Girls Golf teams, Girls Soccer team, as well as the Girls Lacrosse team. In addition, Norm volunteers his time in the winter plowing the turf to provide year-round access to the facilities. And if you haven’t heard Norm sing the National Anthem at one of the many high school sporting events, you are missing out!
